Oh Sew Splendid is a new and upcoming CIC based in our HQ, and supported by Coalville CAN. It's a space to learn new skills, share them with others, and for anyone to use to repair clothes, make something new, or anything else creative.

Learning to sew can have many benefits, letting you save money by repairing and upcycling clothes, creating gifts for family and friends- and it's a social experience too.

They will offer workshops for various skill levels, as well as other events such as sewing for charity. Find out more including dates and how to book below.

It is never too early (or too late) to learn to sew! This beginners sewing session will introduce the sewing machine, share some basic skills and build confidence ready to start your own projects. The session is suitable for budding sewers age 9 and upwards.

Our beginner's sewing sessions are aimed at learners who have never used a sewing machine before or simply need a refresher. On this 2hr workshop we will show you how to thread a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, adjust your tension, tips to sewing a straight line and create a seam. Once you have gained some confidence you will start your project to make a simple cushion cover or tote bag or something of your own choice.

Apologies - This workshop is fully booked! Check back here or on the Facebook Group to see when other sessions are available.
